PRP Optoelectronics Ltd is the ‘home’ of Aegina. PRP was established in 1989 in Towcester – if there’s one thing we know all about – it’s LEDs and associated micro-electronics!
We have built a strong reputation over the years for producing hi-reliability quality products. We’ve achieved this by using best practice and strict adherence to process, our Quality Management System is approved to the International Quality Standard ISO 9001: 2015 with UKAS accreditation.
Over the last 3 years our expertise has been used to design and manufacture Aegina – the worlds only Ultraviolet LED Class A (to NSF 55 Specification) water purification unit producing water 99.99% pure.
UV LED Water Purification
Mercury lamps have been used for a long time and are effective at disinfecting water particularly large volumes, however they take time to warm up, are usually quite bulky and very power hungry. Aegina is the complete opposite to that, which means it can be used for many applications where mains power may be an issue as Aegina can be run off of a 12/24v battery offering an eco-friendly solution.
Aegina uses the latest UV LED technology, the unit has been designed to be ruggedized and compact, instant on/off with little power usage and the LEDs will last a long time in comparison to mercury and can simply be changed without specialist tools or knowledge.
As a company we are proud to have designed and manufactured Aegina here in Wiltshire. Units will be available in various flow rates from 3 up to 18 litres per minute. We can engineer larger unit for higher volumes dependent on requirements. The pandemic unfortunately has delayed production due to supply chain issues but we should be ready to supply end of August 2021 – keep your eye on our home page for updates.
