‘Never 2 Late’

Aegina are delighted to sponsor Father and Daughter in Race Across the Atlantic in 2023.

Having been inspired by her father in 2020, Danielle Jones and her husband Mark have decided to take up the same challenge of rowing 3000 miles in a rowboat across the Atlantic in 2023, calling themselves – ‘For Better Oar Worse’.

Danielle’s father, Ian Davies has already completed this Transatlantic challenge from la Gomera to Antigua back in 2020 – he has decided to not only race his daughter and husband but to also become the oldest pair to row the Atlantic by joining up with Jim Ronaldson for a second time.  They have also chosen a fitting name of ‘Never2Late’

The two teams will be raising awareness and vital funds for three charities:

Myeloma UK – www.myeloma.org.uk    A bone marrow cancer charity particularly close to Ian’s heart having recently undergone treatment himself.

Papyrus – www.papyrus-uk.org   Prevention of young suicide charity.

Access Sport – www.accesssport.org.uk    A Community charity to give access to sport for all.

A year ago fundraising began and still continues, we are proud to have sponsored both father and daughter teams but they need as much support as possible as this is no cheap challenge!  They also wanted to show that you do not have to be a millionaire or Olympic athlete to take on this challenge and that if you put your mind to it all dreams can be possible.

Fundraising continues and if you want to offer support in any way you can contribute to any of the charities directly or go to their Go Fund Me page by clicking here or you can contact Ian Davies on davies.ian753@gmail.com as they have various sponsorship options available.
